There’s something uniquely special about photographing a family in the comfort of their own space. The Robinson Family’s lifestyle session in their backyard garden was exactly that—a warm and genuine capture of the everyday moments that make family life so beautiful. With free-range chickens wandering around and their dogs happily joining in, the session felt effortless and real. Their little boy was free to explore, laugh, and simply be himself, making the photos feel authentic and full of life.
What I loved most about this session was the natural connection that shined through each moment. The way the family interacted—through playful laughter or quiet, shared glances—was a testament to their deep bond. There’s a kind of magic in those in-between moments, where you can see the love and closeness in the smallest of gestures. These are the memories that matter most, and they’re the ones I love to capture.
Their garden, lush and full of personality, was the perfect setting for this laid-back shoot. The simplicity of their backyard allowed the family to be fully present, without distractions. It’s a reminder that you don’t need an elaborate location to capture stunning photos; sometimes, the best backdrop is the one that feels like home—the one that’s part of your everyday life.
I’ve had the privilege of photographing Brooke and Brian from the beginning—capturing their engagement, wedding, maternity, newborn, and now these joyful family moments. It’s such an honor to be part of their story and to see their family grow with each new chapter. These sessions are about embracing the imperfections and finding beauty in the everyday.
Family sessions like this are what I love to photograph. They’re about capturing the moments you’ll want to hold onto, the ones that remind you of the simple, joyful connection that makes your family unique. When you look back at these images, you don’t just see a snapshot—you see a story, a feeling, a piece of your life. That’s why I’m here: to capture the moments that truly matter.
